It’s that time of year again! On May 15th in Charlotte at the Convention Center is this year’s Carolina VMware Users Summit. This continues to be a REALLY great event and this year it’s going to be even bigger and better. Yeah, I know…I hype this every year but I’m not kidding. The organizers have done an outstanding job of getting good people to speak at this event. They aren’t perfect…I’m speaking too…but overall the average continues to go up.
Don’t believe me? Here is a link to the agenda and some highlights:
- PowerCLI by Alan Renouf – Hard to beat Alan when talking PowerCLI.
- vCenter Orchestrator by Cody Bunch – If you haven’t seen vCO this would be a GREAT opportunity.
- vCloud Director Deep Dive by Chris Colotti – Chris is about the best period when it comes to vCD plus he can help get you in shape!
- Presentation by Scott Lowe – Well..we don’t know the topic but Scott very rarely (if ever) disappoints!
- Eric Siebert talking about non-EMC storage (Okay, fine…HP
- Morning keynote by Satyam Vaghani (Principal Engineer at VMware) and Vijay Ramachandran (Storage Product Management at VMware)
- Afternoon keynote by Jake Howering, Product and Solution Manager – Data Center Interconnect and Hybrid Cloud at Cisco
- Me – Deep Dive on vSphere vDS
There will be five groups of breakout sessions throughout the day. Along with the breakouts are two lab rooms running all day. eGroup is doing one set of labs and we (Varrow) will be doing another. We will be running similar labs to those we had at Varrow Madness. So if you couldn’t make those or Madness this would be a great time. They are self-paced so they do not need to start and stop at set times. We expect to offer the following:
- Intro to vSphere 5
- Cisco Nexus 1000v Virtual Distributed Switch
- UIM 3.0
- VSI Plugins (Storage Plugins for VMware)
- VAAI for VMware
- VNX for VMware
- VNXe for VMware
- Avamar Backup for VMware
- RSA Security for VMware
